No matter where Holly Steflik and Kim Sherlock train, students always tell them that this work is the missing piece. When they used the phrase “Discover the Missing Piece” as the tagline for their new website, I agreed that it was an excellent choice.
Let me explain why the Gillespie Approach is the missing piece. The short version is that since the craniosacral fascial system touches every cell of the body, no matter what branch of the healing arts you practice, your patient can respond faster with a more lasting result.
The craniosacral system is important for cognition, nervous system regulation, and body balance. While Dr. Viola Frymann was mentoring me, I discovered the power of the work. The Upledger Institute has trained 132,000 providers, making craniosacral therapy more mainstream in healthcare.
John Barnes P.T. has done a fantastic job in training over 100,000 myofascial release providers and putting fascia on the healthcare map. I had the honor to work in his office as the TMJ and cranial doctor for ten years.
My periodontal background of 22 years showed me the importance of head and neck function, which is strongly reflected in the Gillespie Approach Trainings. We are dealing with brain function, cognition, seeing, chewing, smelling, hearing, tasting, swallowing, speaking, and breathing.
When all three components are combined, this platform can become a powerful healing tool. Patients who seek treatment generally have very restricted craniosacral fascial systems. Conventional healthcare providers have little or no knowledge of this system. We can sometimes get spectacular results because of the power of its optimal function.
Holly, Kim, and I want everyone on the planet to experience its benefits. Whatever your role in the healthcare system, your patients can significantly benefit from this work. Gillespie Approach Training can unlock the healing door for many patients.
