In the moments after birth, how much do you “know”? Most people would probably say very little, if anything. In my world you absolutely “know” any fetal emotional and physical birth traumas trapped in your craniosacral fascial system.
If you are now feeling discomfort in your body as a result, you “know” that you want to release these strains as soon as possible. You may find it hard to do on your own and need help.
As time passes, you may find that this unresolved tightness may affect your breathe, suck, and swallow dynamics to thrive. Now everything about life can become totally annoying, and you may vocally express your displeasure to your family.
The Baby Brain Score (BBS) and craniosacral fascial therapy/infant driven movement (CFT/IDM) can identify and help to release newborn tightness. Happy newborns need not be fussy infants.
We all agree that the vulnerable newborn is highly dependent on adults “knowing” proper infant care. But as the key aspect of CFT/IDM, we need to honor the newborn’s “knowing” by listening to his/her strain patterns to facilitate healing.
