Can craniosacral fascial strain pass from one generation to the next like a genetic imprint? I am revisiting that concept as initially presented on the July 11, 2022, post.
A mother presented with her high-strung five-year-old daughter who had anxiety, headaches, and constipation. Her mom said that she was very tense. She is also having reflex therapy done with little improvement.
She was born in a birth center with her cord wrapped—a red flag. Consequently, she was a very fussy baby.
She had a locked-down zero-second brain cycle where none of the fascia in her body was talking. I had to do some cranial work first to jump start the craniosacral fascial system.
The fascial web opened nicely with her brain cycle ending at 90 seconds. I expect her to do well with continued work.
Toward the end of the visit, mom mentioned that she herself had anxiety as far back as she could remember. She also had been a tense and tight person like her daughter her whole life.
I asked her to lay on the table, and her brain cycle was also zero seconds. She probably had been tight her entire life.
I told her that when you look at your daughter, you are looking at yourself growing up. At least she will get the needed help early in life.
I spent a few minutes working on mom at no fee. Having a very tight pelvis, she came out of zero-second cycle nicely. She felt a distinct change and scheduled therapy for herself.
Possibly mom’s pelvis was so tight that she gave birth to a tight baby. I continue to wonder if this trait could be passed down from generation to generation.
The work at birth is so critical to lay the groundwork for a lifetime of health. Gillespie Approach Training is so needed for all birth providers.
