Happy baby under blanket - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

A Birth Provider’s “Conversation” to a Newborn

“I know those forty weeks may have resulted in some emotional and physical traumas for you. Your entire body may have been affected since the fascial web connects every structural cell. I also know that unless you have therapy, your craniosacral fascial system may hold these traumas for your lifetime.

“You have just passed your five-minute APGAR Score with flying colors. Congratulations, you have made it into the world alive with great vital signs. But since you have a compromised Baby Brain Score (BBS), your soft tissue tightness may foreshadow some later quality of life conditions. I want to help you release these strains now to help prevent those issues.

“As I am listening to your body, are you ready to release a layer of trauma? I promise not to judge you as being right or wrong, good or bad. I am just present and have no attachment to the outcome of your healing.

“I will allow you go into a stretch and just follow and support you. You are creating your own therapy with Infant Driven Movement (IDM). Please feel free to release any pent-up emotions. You are hardwired to heal yourself, and I am letting you do whatever you need to do. When you are done, you can bond with mom.

“Since more layers are probably present, I will continue to facilitate your healing as much as possible before you leave the hospital. My wish is for you to go home as a calm and relaxed baby where you can breathe well, nurse well, digest well, poop well, and nap well. I want all of your body systems functioning optimally to prevent living with the effects of these traumas for the rest of your life.

“When you arrive home, you can spend your day smiling and cooing at mom and dad. Everyone will comment about how happy and adorable you are. You can start off your life as a shining star.

“If your body is free of craniosacral fascial strain, you can have a healthier childhood. Your excellent brain motion can optimize your cognitive function. The Gillespie Approach at birth can help you be the best you can be.”
