Debilitating Adult Head Trauma

Sometimes head trauma can have a debilitating effect on an adult's life.

A middle-aged woman with a high-profile executive job experienced head trauma in 2012. She felt out of sorts but continued to work until her second head trauma the following year.

At that point she lost her cognitive abilities to focus, concentrate, remember, and, most importantly, her thought process. She has been unable to work for the last ten years.

For someone that talented and who thrived on work, idleness can take a toll on the psyche. Her friends said that she was irritable, and she experienced chronic head, neck, and shoulder spasms and pain.

She has consulted the best doctors and is on medication to manage her symptoms. No healthcare professional can resonate with her physical condition.

Her brain cycle was totally locked down, and I could not feel any fascial strain in her body. In my mind she was experiencing the nightmare of a very nearly flatlined craniosacral fascial system. She was so happy with tears that someone could precisely confirm what she was feeling.

When a patient is that tight, the provider needs to take baby steps in therapy. I carefully started the basic cranial techniques, hoping that the body would escape the zero-second brain cycle abyss.

When I listened to her occiput, nothing moved. But when I held her frontal bone with it, that bone started to move counterclockwise..

I followed that bone to a still point where the meningeal fascia let go. Feeling renewed brain motion so quickly after a long period of time is always gratifying—indeed, the body can still heal itself.

I waited a few minutes before continuing and slowly proceeded to help the body reestablish more normal neurophysiology. Setting the bar high, I am expecting a positive outcome where she can be able to go back to work.
