Double Vision and Blurred Vision

The craniosacral fascial system can have a direct effect on eye function.

A man presented with many emotional and physical traumas in his life. I saw him for a number of visits where he was nicely peeling his onion of trauma.

He was getting better as he revisited and cleared each event. His brain cycle had opened to a great 180 seconds.

At the latest visit, he complained of recent double and blurred vision. He recalled an event from high school twenty years ago where a lacrosse ball directly hit the side of his head.

Soon after that event, he had a panic attack, anxiety, and vision issues. When the same conditions recently reappeared, I believe that he was revisiting that layer of his onion.

I found in therapy that his lower-back fascia was pulling into his eyes. Strain A was pulling into one eye and strain B was pulling into the other eye.

It is rough enough when one strain affects both eyes, but different strains create a no-win situation where the eyes just cannot function well together.

I see it with children with convergence problems and patients with many other conditions where the eyes are not happy with each other.

While I spent the visit helping his body release these strains, he was undergoing an emotional and physical workout. I expect him to recover well and will check him for any lingering strain on the next visit.

The profession needs to realize that eye health is directly related to the function of the craniosacral fascial system. Even though craniosacral is nonexistent and fascia is glossed over in medical education, this system greatly determines our quality of life.

Dr. Andrew Still, the father of osteopathy, said in the 1800s that disease starts in the fascia. Gillespie Approach Training can be the missing piece in your healthcare practice.
