Emotional Trauma

Severe emotional trauma can adversely affect the craniosacral fascial system. A relative reached out to me about a teenager who was having a hard time dealing with the impending death of a close loved one.

The young woman presented with memory loss, anxiety, depression, and daily headaches. She was having difficulty in thinking, focusing, concentrating, reading, and driving. She was a good student, but now she did not have the cognitive ability to even take a test.

She had a zero-second brain cycle, and her fascial web was locked down tight. There was no history of trauma, and she had been happy until recently.

She started braces eight months ago and got them tightened every few months. For some children, braces will restrict the craniosacral fascial system, causing her exact issues.

When patients present with a zero-second brain cycle, they are in sympathetic nervous system mode or “fight or flight.” The goal in therapy is to help them relieve the pressure on their brain, relax their nervous system, and help them flip into parasympathetic nervous system mode.

The same principle applies to crying babies and children with ADHD. The Gillespie Approach can help them calm down so that their bodies can rest and heal from their traumas.

Conventional medical care may prescribe medication(s) to help teenagers relax. This may be useful in the very short run but not for long-term management.

Our platform takes a more natural approach by searching for the root cause of the condition. We employ massage techniques to calm and relax the nervous system without the use of drugs, surgery, or technology.

In contemplating therapy, I do not know what came first, the chicken or the egg. Did the emotional trauma shut down the craniosacral fascial system or did the orthodontic treatment bind down the system? Are they playing a dual role?

My plan is have the maxillary arch wire taken off to remove the offending physical trauma. I will then help the body open the craniosacal fascial system and see how she responds. If the brain cycle goes back to zero seconds at the beginning of the following visit, the emotional trauma may be playing a major role in her condition.

If the brain cycle is still holding steady and she is feeling better with her conditions at that following visit, the main issue may be more in the orthodontic arena. Either way, continued counseling would be a must for her.
