A Lifetime of Untreated Birth Trauma

I am presenting a possible hypothesis for the root cause of adult asthma. I could easily substitute this condition with other structural diseases like migraines, neck pain, and back pain.

The first inkling of a possible problem is when the mother feels fetal hiccups. That tells me there may be sustained compressive fascial strain in the diaphragm, the main breathing muscle.

Many neonates with a breathing problem at birth spend time in the NICU. If I see an infant with a breathing issue in the first few months of life, I look for fascial tightness in the respiratory system.

A strong indicator would be infants with failure to thrive, who have trouble co-ordinating the suck, swallow, and breathe reflex. These infants will probably have mid-sectional diaphragmatic fascial tightness resulting in other issues like reflux, indigestion, and gas.

Another tipoff would be the infant contracting respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Many of these babies may be predisposed due to fascial strain in the diaphragm.

In time, these fascial strain patterns may extend up into the lungs, tracheobronchial tree, throat, and nasopharynx. The child may now be diagnosed with pediatric asthma.

The parents may be continually reassured along this timeline that their child may grow out of the condition. That may be true for some children who have light fascial strain patterns. But if the strain is pulling hard where the body cannot heal itself, a lifetime of suffering with asthma may be the final outcome.

Let’s prevent this possible scenario with therapy at birth. Our Lancaster infant research from 2006–12 revealed many of nature's subtle secrets. Now in my 70s, I continue to experience joy in sharing what is possible for newborns. Practicality is not my strong point; I am a romantic, believing in my vision since the 1970s, even if it seems futile. I am just waiting for the world to see its promise.
