Horse accidents - woman with horse - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Horse Accidents

I live in Devon, Pennsylvania, the home of The Devon Horse Show. Even though people in this part of the country love their horses, accidents can happen.

Nine years ago, a woman presented after an eight-foot fall out of a hay loft onto a concrete floor. She was achy and stiff but felt much better after only one therapy visit.

The next month, she fell off her horse and needed another therapy visit. She had fallen off many times as a younger woman—not a problem. She was very tough, but approaching 50, she realized that her body was having a harder time healing.

Two years later, she was sucker-punched by her horse, hit in her face, and experienced whiplash. Again, one therapy visit did the trick.

Just recently, she fell off her horse again, released well in therapy, and opened to her usual 180-second brain cycle.

The beautiful thing about the craniosacral fascial system is that it holds the memories of a trauma. If I just hold her legs and listen intently to the fascial web, it will take me to the position of the fall.

I found that in authentic healing, the patient needs to revisit the trauma in space and time to clear it. I expect that as she ages, she may need more than one visit to recover.

But in the meantime, I let people do their passion in life and am ready to serve them in time of need. Gillespie Approach Training has a wide application in the healthcare spectrum.
