Infant concussion - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Infant Concussion

The question often arises when an infant falls and hits his head hard, should a parent be concerned? My suggestion would be to monitor him over a few days for behavioral changes.

A conscientious mother brought her newborn to be checked three days after birth. There were many issues that needed to be worked through over at least twenty visits, a lot for a newborn.

Just recently, he had a bad fall where he hit his head hard. Mom did not notice anything unusual that day, but over the next few days, he stopped pooping.

She wondered if the fall had anything to do with his constipation. When he came in for a visit, his long brain cycle of over 200 seconds had gone to zero seconds.

The two major elements of the craniosacral fascial system were in play. In the craniosacral system component, head trauma can transfer directly to the sacrum through the dural tube.

In the second component, the fascial web connects every cell of the body. If the web is traumatized, the effects can be felt throughout the body, including the abdominal area.

During therapy, the most recent injury usually appears first as the top layer of the traumatic onion. His craniosacral fascial system opened beautifully, and I expect him to recover nicely.

Healthcare providers need to look at the function of this system to offer the best care to their patients. Gillespie Approach Training is so needed for our little ones.

Mom Speaks

“My son fell off the changing table and landed on his head. I immediately checked for any signs of concussion and behavior that seemed off, and he was moving and responding normally the rest of the day.

“The following day, he had trouble passing a bowel movement, which has never happened before in his two years of life. Forty-eight hours after the fall, he had a fever for two days. After the fever broke, he was very irritable, his balance was off, and he was falling over more often.

“After four days of these abnormal symptoms, my husband and I knew something was wrong. I noticed a bump on his head a week later.

“The combination of a homeopathic remedy and the Gillespie Approach cleared all his symptoms in three days. The afternoon Dr. Gillespie worked on him, he had two bowel movements.

“The experience of watching your child become a different person after suffering a head injury is terrifying. I am beyond grateful for the noninvasive, natural treatments that helped him recover so effectively. I don’t know how people parent without the Gillespie Approach!”
