Because of my lifetime experience, I believe that the scientific community needs to investigate the possible side effects of injecting foreign materials into the fascial web.
Having saved the lives of thousands of soldiers in World War II, penicillin was called the “wonder drug” of the 1940s. Since I grew up as a sickly kid, I got a shot of penicillin for every cold, runny nose, sore throat, or fever.
I vividly remember the doctor coming to my house and injecting me with a very painful shot in my backside, with my father giving me a toy truck as a reward. Since I was a right-handed pitcher, I later took more injections in my left arm at his office.
In the 1950s, no one questioned the doctor because he knew best. With no Internet available, everyone was completely on board with the medical model.
When I contracted mononucleosis at 19, the same doctor gave me penicillin tablets. My body broke out in a terrible rash since I had become allergic to it.
After I started my vegan diet and healthier lifestyle in 1980, I gradually noticed pain in my shoulders and lower back areas. After some consideration, I realized the stuck penicillin in my muscles and fascia started to painfully detoxify.
Out of nowhere, I had double frozen shoulder for six months where I could not have a catch with my son. When I had muscle therapy in my butt tissues, large red itchy rashes appeared.
The greater problem was that when the penicillin came out, I had an allergic reaction creating chronic inflammation and general fatigue. This aspect has been an unavoidable part of my life for the past 40 years.
In 2017, I had a huge toxic release in my right hip area and had to use a cane for five weeks. My friends were concerned and begged me to seek medical help. I said no worries—my body was healing itself beautifully.
I had never been to an allopathic general medical practitioner in my adult life. In the past few years, I decided to consult with a regular DO in case I had a serious medical issue.
The PSA test he recommended came back at nine, which indicated a 75-80% chance of prostate cancer. The urology specialist medicolegally demanded an MRI, prostate biopsy, and possible surgery.
I told him that a high PSA could also indicate chronic inflammation, which I have had in my pelvic area for my whole life. He blew me off and insisted we go down the medical road.
Since I have followed the preventative activities for prostate cancer and the statistical survival rate at 77 is better if you do nothing, I just continue to live a healthy lifestyle and take my chances.
If I could only change one thing in my life, I wish that I never had injectable penicillin. It is the “gift” that keeps on giving—pain every day.
I believe other people are also living with this problem. The scientific community needs to look at the side effects of injecting foreign materials into the fascial web.
