Mother and son mirror each other - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

A Mother and Son Mirror Each Other

Last year, a mother brought her eight-year-old son into the office to be checked. School was hard for him, with reading, focusing, and concentrating problematic.

He presented with a zero-second brain cycle with a tight upper body and trunk twist. I saw him for three visits where his strains worked out nicely and his brain cycle finished at 230 seconds.

When mom came in 14 months later as a patient, she mentioned that he was doing great in school. He was overall a happy young man.

When she started to talk about her issues, a similar pattern emerged. She had neck pain that was pulling into her head and eyes. Her back and low back were also tight.

Her problem started in grade school when she had a lot of difficulty in reading comprehension. Currently, she had trouble focusing and concentrating. At only 30 years of age, she lamented, “It is hard for me to think!”

I suggested that, when she looked back at her son’s issues, she was looking at herself as a child. So many people are living with the effects of untreated birth trauma and feel like that is just their lot in life.

Her pelvis was also tight, which I could understand, with having two children. She also had back strain, which was creating a neck arch and head pressure.

I believe that she probably also had a difficult birth, and left untreated, had difficulty in school. I could resonate with her because I also had reading comprehension issues throughout school.

On that first visit, she arched her neck with twisting to the right. She felt immediate relief as pressure was releasing in her head.

She ended her session at a 110-second brain cycle. She could understand the direct correlation with her son’s condition.

She was now totally on board to have her next baby checked as close to birth as possible. Gillespie Approach Training is so needed for birth providers to help get everyone off to a great start in life.
