The Power of the Gillespie Approach

The work can be powerful.

A nine-year-old boy presented with anxiety, ADHD, gagging, and sensory processing delays. At three, he was diagnosed with A*D with skimming.

Since he had nervous system dysregulation, his mother felt that my work could possibly help him. He presented with a zero-second brain cycle and generalized tight fascia.

I focused on his head and neck on the first visit. The web started to release nicely, and his brain cycle opened to 80 seconds.

On the second visit, I listened to the web from his pelvis into his neck. He continued to open well with a brain cycle of 140 seconds. His mother was thrilled to see that he was calmer, more relaxed, and more conversational.

At the third visit, I hit fascial pay dirt. Mom said that he felt really good except for his feet and ankles, which were really bothering him. His gagging was still an ongoing issue.

I felt considerable foot and ankle strain in both feet. When that started to clear, I connected the throat (gagging) with his feet in therapy. His body responded very positively as the web can unconventionally connect everything in space and time.

At the end of the visit, I was short of time, but from determining the speed of his brain motion, his brain cycle was amazingly well over 300 seconds. I expect continued gains as we reach for the strain-free goal.

Mom Speaks

“We wanted to explore craniosacral fascial therapy (CFT) for our nine-year-old son as we heard that it may benefit children with A*D and ADHD symptoms. Dr. Gillespie and his approach came highly recommended.

“On our first visit, as Dr. Gillespie worked on my son, I could see a sort of ‘release’ happening right before my eyes. It was almost as if a weight had been lifted off of him (literally).

“Almost immediately after, he was more calm, less impulsive, and was communicating so clearly. He was making eye contact and actually listening—a huge change from what we had been seeing previously.

“After the second visit, in addition to the above positive changes, we noticed that he was less rigid with his routines and much more easygoing in general. Before our treatments, he would often have extreme meltdowns when he didn’t get his way, and now they have decreased significantly!

“He also had been gagging (sensory related) at every meal and snack time for months. On our third visit, Dr. Gillespie was really able to tap into this issue, connecting the strain in his feet and ankles to his throat.

“Then everything changed! He is hardly gagging at all now, and his whole demeanor has been light, happy and free. We left for vacation a few days after his visit, and it was the best vacation our family has ever experienced.

“He conquered fears that had been holding him back for so long. He wasn’t overthinking everything, and he was just being a kid. It was so wonderful to watch!

“Since Dr. Gillespie was so pleased with his brain cycle and fascial looseness after our fourth visit, he felt he didn’t need any more therapy. He is still doing great, and we are so thankful!”
