Health practitioners need to be aware of the space-time concept.
A ten-year-old girl presented with speech and vision issues. She also had pain in her right foot.
She had breastfeeding difficulty and tongue-tie surgery at nine weeks. Even though she was completing orthodontics with a “brain-friendly” dentist, another professional recommended a tongue-tie revision.
She was also seeing a vision therapist for depth perception and tracking issues. In the space-time concept of the Gillespie Approach, all of these problems can be related.
I found on evaluating and treating her that the fascial strain extended from her right foot into her throat, jaw, and eyes. The doctor looking at her foot, the vision therapist looking at her eyes, and the professional looking at a tongue-tie need to understand that these body parts are all connected in the craniosacral fascial space-time web.
Few providers are seeking the root cause of a problem. Everyone seems to have tunnel vision by just seeing the small picture of their speciality.
She did gymnastics but has never been injured. But she did break her left tibia, but that did not appear to be a factor. That strain was more of a fetal positioning problem that we often see in children.
Mom said in a followup email that her leg was better but still not 100%. If the root cause was compensating for the break, it probably would have cleared on the first visit.
She also fell and had stitches on her chin around age four. Mom wondered why she tripped on a short flight of stairs in pre-kindergarten and if that restriction on her right side may have been a factor.
When you look at the big picture of the craniosacral fascial system in the space-and-time concept, you can start to see the root cause of many problems. Correction here can prevent many future treatments that just Band-Aid an issue.
The benefit of the Gillespie Approach is that authentic healing can be accomplished. Gillespie Approach Training is a must for healthcare providers.
