I am currently treating a toddler who had severe compression in utero. She is revisiting her frank breech position to the point where her legs are further opening to a V position and flexing beyond her trunk—ouch. This is creating a lot of pressure in her pelvic area.
We can honestly describe newborn/infant CFT as completely unpredictable, somewhat chaotic, medically unexplainable, and very complex for the left-brained individual. But we know the body remembers its craniosacral fascial strain, and release creates more normal physiology. Bottom line: It works.
If you are the type of therapist who needs to follow a formula for everyone, a one-size-fits-all protocol, CFT is definitely not for you. But if you can listen to the body, follow the strain, and trust what you are feeling is true, CFT is for you.
