I saw a seven-year-old boy today who had a tongue-thrust. This is the first mom in 40 years who knew what a myofunctional therapist was and had already made an appointment to retrain his tongue. As a newborn, he latched on well but had terrible issues nursing. One breast had extra strong milk flow and caused the newborn to learn to thrust his tongue to stop the strong flow of milk to avoid choking. Last month I posted the story of weak flow in a breast.
