Many times fascial strain in the back of the head/neck will pull on the throat causing craniosacral fascial strain in the vocal cords. I recommend that mom connects the dots with you in CFT/IDM by holding the voice box as you hold the occiput/back of the neck. If the infant struggles momentarily to breathe, mom will not feel that you are choking her child. She may even feel the strain and release – a great educational tool.
