By Dr. Barry Gillespie and Krissy Myers
1. The golden hour directly after trauma is when medical intervention can be the most successful. Without BBS/CFT/IDM directly at birth, the physical onion of compensation and adaptation can build to make correction of the restriction of the craniosacral fascial system exponentially more difficult in the future.
2. Raw emotions can release in the first few minutes of life to clean the slate. Newborns may become freer of physiological/emotional stresses to more easily deal with issues later in life. Parents can accept this aspect more easily than the more intense drama of crying and screaming with CFT/IDM in infancy.
3. At birth the soft cranial structures are 90% cartilaginous and intramembranous tissues and 10% bone. As the fontanelles close, the year-old cranium is almost completely ossified. When the cranial sutures become saw-toothed and interdigitated at around five years of age, structural correction of facial asymmetry becomes exceedingly difficult.
4. At birth toxicity is generally not a factor; newborns have clean cardiovascular, lymphatic, and central nervous systems designed to function optimally. As people age in the American culture, these systems become more toxic and limit the effectiveness of CFT. For example 85% of all Americans will develop cardiovascular disease in their lifetime and about half of those people will die from it. People become tight and toxic – not a good combination for health and well-being.
