The brain cycle can be a valuable evaluation tool.
A seven-month-old infant presented with the usual fussy baby issues and strabismus. She had a zero-second brain cycle and severe arching.
Over the course of six months, she had thirteen therapy visits. The fussy baby issues and arching cleared, but her strabismus did not.
It appeared that the root of her strabismus consisted of deep fascial strains in the core of her onion of birth trauma. At the last visit, her brain cycle reached 230 seconds.
Since the window of opportunity for successful eye surgery was closing, the parents elected for her to have the operation. I suggested to mom that after an acceptable period of healing time, we schedule a checkup visit.
Any surgical procedure, including oral tie surgery, is traumatic to the fascial web. With a baseline brain cycle in seconds, the provider now has a way to measure how much fascial restriction was due to just the operation.
The child returned with a brain cycle of 140 seconds. Other than some new neck strain, probably from the procedure, her body was clear.
After one visit her neck fascia released nicely, and her brain cycle returned to 210 seconds. I suggested to mom one more visit to help release any residual strain to attain an optimal brain cycle.
