Whole body hurts - drag through day - young woman - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

“My Whole Body Hurts. I Drag Through the Day.”

A 27-year-old woman presented for evaluation. “My whole body hurts. I have chronic right hip pain. I can sleep for twelve hours and wake up tired. I drag through the day.

“I was recently married and wanted to have a baby, but I cannot put my body through forty weeks of physical stress. I am afraid that I will not have the energy to care for my baby.

I have been to the best doctors in Philadelphia and have spent thousands of dollars in medical tests. No one can find anything wrong.” Because she looked perfectly healthy, she was frustrated that no one understood what she was experiencing.

From the age of 15 to 20, she had five concussions and many broken bones due to horse falls. Her own labor and delivery of 48 hours resulted in severe colic and reflux

She presented with a zero-second brain cycle and was tight everywhere. She had a tongue thrust, creating an open bite, and needed myofunctional therapy. She had been to many dentists in her life who never saw this problem.

Since there is no testing for craniosacral fascial restriction, patients can easily fall through the cracks of the health care system. One needs to feel restricted brain motion and fascial tightness for proper assessment.

I explained to her that therapy will not be a quick correction. She will be dealing with all of her traumas from conception forward that will probably take months and maybe even years to work through.

I suggested a month or two of weekly visits to see if her body responds positively. I also cautioned her that she would experience a roller coaster healing ride. When she starts feeling better, she may access another layer of trauma and feel worse with a new set of symptoms.

Authentic healing is a process, not an event. This journey is not for the faint of heart, and patience is required. Gillespie Approach Training can open the healing door for many patients.
