Rebirth at 73 Years of Age

Can a patient at 73 still heal from a severe birth injury?

A 73-year-old woman presented with chronic ADHD and sleep issues as her major conditions. She had a long history of car accidents, breast and uterine cancer, and a host of other traumas. She was also a forceps birth in 1950, when their use was in vogue.

She presented with a zero-second brain cycle and whiplash strain from her pelvis into her head. In evaluating her situation, many babies with zero-second cycles have nap and sleep issues. Virtually all of the ADHD children have a zero-second brain cycle.

During a forceps delivery, the head may be squeezed and sometimes pulled out in a neck twisting motion. This trauma can send a newborn into a lifetime of sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system mode.

On the positive healing side, she has had a clean diet and lifestyle for most of her life. She even spent two visits at a water fasting clinic to detoxify. Could our work be a big missing piece for her—a real life-changer?

At the first therapy session, her brain cycle opened to 60 seconds. Later, another 30-minute visit resulted in a 150-second cycle—amazing. So, yes, it is possible for a senior to heal from a long-ago birth trauma. In her words:

“Yesterday, I felt a little light-headed like my forehead was bigger, more spacious. I also felt more relaxed and more comfortable in my body. My nervous system was calming down.

Today, the calm sensation is still continuing. I've been to several doctors to treat the insomnia for decades, to no avail. In the last year, I have become more aware of the obsessions and distractions of ADHD. I look forward to continued improvement.”

I often see babies with tight heads and know, without therapy, their quality of life will probably be compromised. A provider with Gillespie Approach Training is so critical to be present for every newborn.
