Young mother - 18 years of migraines - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

A Young Mother With 18 Years of Migraines

The migraines started when she was 16 and continued after having two children. She had two years of orthodontics and physical therapy for her right TMJ problem.

She has scoliosis with pain in her neck and back. She also has tachycardia and feels tight all of the time. When she jogs, she feels beat up after the run.

Botox and other medications did not work. Could she still be suffering from her car accident at 16?

She presented with a zero-second brain cycle and an upper-body twist pulling into her head. After the end of the first session, her brain cycle opened to 60 seconds.

At the second visit, she started to arch severely during the trunk twist, and her brain cycle opened to 100 seconds. The brain cycle indicates to the provider how well the body is responding to therapy.

She said that she was feeling better at the third visit. The ongoing trunk twist appeared to be associated with her scoliosis.

She gave me a full report at the beginning of her fourth visit. She had one mild headache for the week, which was unusual, and she stopped taking her muscle relaxant.

Her heart rate, which was always over 100 every morning, was now between 80 and 90. She was losing weight because she was not compensating for pain anymore. When she finished a run, she felt good instead of feeling battered. Her life is changing dramatically.

I hypothesize that she had birth trauma that created the scoliosis, the orthodontics tightened her further, and the car accident took her over the edge. A body can only adapt and compensate so much. As she goes through her healing journey of revisiting and clearing old traumas, I expect her to do well.

I believe that if someone had noticed a problem and given her therapy at birth, she would have experienced a different 34 years. My desire is for providers with Gillespie Approach Training to be available to change the lives of all newborns.
