Universal work - CFT - newborns - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

The Universal Need for the Newborn Work

“I see a world where every newborn is free from a lifetime of suffering due to birth trauma.”

I believe that birth trauma is ubiquitous and not the rare occurrence. In 1966 my mentor, Dr. Viola Frymann, found that less than 12% of the 1,250 newborns she studied in a Minnesota hospital had normal, symmetrical, and freely mobile craniosacral mechanisms. I believe every one of the 134,000,000 babies born on the planet every year needs to be checked for signs of birth trauma with the Baby Brain Score (BBS). The great majority will require craniosacral fascial therapy (CFT) to reestablish healthy neonatal neurophysiology.

Birth represents the perfect evaluation/therapy time because:

1. The medical golden hour presents a unique window of opportunity for the best outcome since the healing starts immediately.

2. The newborn’s tissues are the softest and most pliable as the cartilaginous and membraneous plates of the skull overlap coming through the birth canal. Harder bone tissue forms later in the first year of life.

3. The therapeutic response is quicker with the fresh in utero, labor, and delivery physical and emotional traumas.

4. The nominal vocal releases at birth offset the potential screaming and crying infant/toddler drama.

The power of the work lies in the restoration of optimal neurophysiology and the prevention of many diseases. Now this approach is a precious gift for the fortunate few; in time it needs to be the global standard of care for all.
