Dentistry and Birth Trauma

I was seeing something very unusual in a few patients and then it happened to me.

They would complain of random minor shooting pains in their teeth. There were no dental issues. After listening to the body and connecting a few dots, I found that fascial strain from their neck and below was pulling on their teeth, causing the problem.

Recently, I had a full crown fitted on my upper right second molar. I had my mouth open wide during the drilling with my head and neck turned to the right. Adding the stress of this procedure, I have found that patients can easily develop fascial strain.

I felt fine after that visit, but, a few days later, vague shooting pains started in my teeth. I found that when I held those teeth, deep fascia in my neck seized up and was pulling hard into my head. It felt like my head was being arched and compressed hard down into my cervical spine.

The teeth pain had nothing to do with the dental procedure because that would have cleared quickly in therapy. I believe that it set off a deep layer of hidden birth trauma in my onion. Certain current events can mysteriously bring up distant past fascial traumas. The body releases its strain in its own space and time.

I hypothesize that my fetal neck was compressed, and this fascial strain set off both fifth cranial nerves, innervating the pulps, periodontal ligaments, and possibly the bone around my teeth. After 77 years, my body is now releasing strain from birth trauma—amazing.

Since the strain is deep seated, I am assuming that will take a lot of work and time to fully release. But you never know for sure in authentic healing.

This work is never boring. I have come a long way on my journey from six years of dental education 50 years ago. I am just waiting for the world to catch up.
