Since the craniosacral fascial system connects every cell of the body, the Gillespie Approach can help patients with a wide variety of conditions. Many times, a patient will heal a condition without even mentioning it during the intake interview.

“I want to give you a general update on how the Gillespie Approach has influenced all of my conditions. It’s tough to even know where to start.
“The most obvious problem that Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy resolved immediately was my oddly shaped eyebrow. As an adult, my left eyebrow has been stuck in a permanently raised position. It looked very strange, like I’m always giving people a suspicious look.
“That eyebrow dropped after the initial Gillespie Approach treatment, and I had a symmetrical face for the first time in my adulthood. That was surreal.
“Since then, I notice that my facial muscles will pull it up again if I’m not paying attention (seemingly out of muscle or fascial memory). But I’m able to relax if I gently massage my forehead and focus on relaxing my facial muscles.
“The Gillespie Approach would have been worth every penny even if that was the only resolution. But that was just the first benefit!”
My Response
He had a lot of fascial strain in his body pulling on his face—a common occurrence. The above corrective phenomenon can only be explained by the interconnectedness of the fascial web.

“I’ve been getting routine massages through my adulthood because of chronic back pain. I just realized a couple of weeks ago that I have not felt the need to get a massage since my Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy treatments. Most of the sharp areas of pain are gone, and I’m able to work out other uncomfortable areas through stretching.”
My Response
The root cause of his head and neck issues were primarily fascial strains in his back and trunk. In the current specialized healthcare system, unfortunately no one will connect those dots. Most people with back pain have no idea that fascial restriction probably is the primary cause of their overall suffering.

“The main condition I wanted the Gillespie Approach to resolve was my chronic sinus inflammation. Before starting Gillespie Approach treatment, my sinus area was inflamed about 80% of every day.
“Allergy medicine would work occasionally but never consistently. The week after my initial Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy treatment, the inflammation dropped to roughly 50% of every day.
“It’s now been a few weeks after my third Gillespie Approach treatment. My sinus is inflamed roughly 20% of every day, and it’s generally at night when I’m tired.”
My Response
Again, fascial strain in his body was pulling into his sinuses. Patients can take allergy medicines and have sinus surgery, but the root cause of the problem will probably be distant from the sinuses in the full-body fascial web.

“The most unexpected benefit from the Gillespie Approach has been the resolution of my occasional stutter. Before starting Gillespie Approach treatment, I would occasionally experience a stutter when I spoke with someone I called on the phone.
“I would feel a slight tension in my throat, which was a signal that I was going to stutter through my first sentence. It was very strange and frustrating.
“Since starting Gillespie Approach treatment, I have had several instances when I would feel that throat tension but not have the stutter. Maybe it’s a partial placebo effect—I don’t know. But I’ll take it!”
My Response
Occasionally, therapy may be helpful for a patient with a stutter. The fascial web needs to be calm and relaxed throughout the body, especially in the throat and neck.

“I really appreciate the work you do, and I look forward to seeing the Gillespie Approach become more prominent in our healthcare institutions. I know it’s hard for medical professionals to believe a treatment so noninvasive can have these kind of results. But the truth speaks for itself, so I’m sure it will continue to grow in the culture.”
My Response
I am hopeful that our grassroots Gillespie Approach Training approach will continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of the work to everyone. Learn from the best—Holly Steflik and Kim Sherlock are terrific trainers.
I believe that someday the Gillespie Approach will be the standard of care for every newborn in America. Everyone will be blessed.
