Fascial strain may present in many forms anywhere in the body.
A forty-year-old man presented with neck pain. His hips were out of alignment, and his wife said that he walked “funny.” He also had mild kyphosis and went to his chiropractor occasionally for an adjustment.
The major trauma in his life was at seven years of age when a horse kicked and threw him. He had a concussion but did not require medical treatment.
He presented with a 100-second brain cycle, excellent for an adult male. But he had pelvic and neck twisting along with some arching.
He had a terrific first visit where his fascial web released beautifully, and his brain opened to a cycle of 180 seconds. He said he felt much better on the second visit with only some remaining lumbar pain.
He never mentioned on the intake that he had shaky hands, which I noticed during this visit. Sometimes patients do not tell you their full story, not knowing that the craniosacral fascial system connects every cell in the body. This puts hundreds of treatable conditions in play.
His hands started shaking at eight, soon after his horse accident. He has tried many therapies without success, but no one has worked with his fascia.
In my mental assessment, his condition looked like Parkinson’s disease, but I ruled that out because it started at such a young age. The result of birth trauma to his hands would probably have shown up a lot sooner in life.
The likeliest scenario would have been from the horse accident where he landed hard on his hands and wrists, creating fascial strain. I also noticed that his hands remained cold even after being inside the office for a while, possibly indicating tight fascia around his arterial supply.
Not surprisingly, each hand presented with multiple fascial strains. As a positive sign, there was more strain in his left hand, which he said gave him more trouble.
I plan to see him for a number of visits to work out the tightness and am hopeful for a beneficial outcome. Gillespie Approach Training can open the healing door for many patients with unusual problems.
