Childhood Headaches

No child should live with headaches.

A fourteen-year-old girl has had headaches since she was three. She experienced a bad fall then when the side of her head hit a concrete floor. She also broke her right arm at four years of age.

Along with the headaches, she has neck, back, and low-back pain. Since the 1970s, my heart has gone out to these children. Without therapy, they may have to needlessly suffer their entire lives—a dreadful thought.

She presented with the expected zero-second brain cycle with fascial strain from her pelvis into her head. She also had a lot of dental crowding with narrow jaws.

When I started therapy, pelvic strain appeared in the adductor areas leading into her pelvic floor. After working this area for some time, her brain cycle still remained at zero seconds. That told me that strain, although important to her overall health, did not appear to be causing her headaches.

When I addressed her upper body, a deep arching pattern appeared that was coming from her sacral area. After significant release, her brain cycle opened to 100 seconds, indicating that was more likely causing her headaches.

I also recommended to mom that she strongly consider orthodontics to correct her malocclusion. She needed jaw expansion and a better bite to lessen the return of more headaches.

Today, most orthodontics is done for esthetics where everyone wants the perfect smile for the wedding pictures. For others, orthodontics is a must health procedure to establish a stable bite.

In the ideal situation, she would have had therapy directly after the accident. In a perfect world, she would have had therapy right after birth. The concept of structural immunity could have helped her minimize the effects of the blow to her head.
