Therapy after oral tie surgery - man preparing food and holding knife - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Therapy After Oral Tie Surgery

The Gillespie Approach is needed after all surgery.

A young man presented with oral issues. He had a narrow face, crowded teeth, and scoliosis with neck and back pain.

He had trouble with previous orthodontics and was looking for a better outcome. After 19 visits of Gillespie Approach therapy and extensive orthodontics, he was now facing oral tie surgery.

He had been running a great brain cycle of 320 seconds, and his fascial web had felt relaxed. Three weeks after the surgery, he presented with a different story.

A new fascial strain from his surgical site was twisting down into his trunk. I was not surprised because any invasion of the fascial web can lead to strain anywhere in the body.

After I spent the entire session working out this new trunk twist, his great brain cycle returned. I applaud his orthodontic team for their timely referral.

The health and function of the craniosacral fascial system is so important. Some surgical procedures, like appendectomy, episiotomy, and oral ties, are so “normalized” in the culture that this therapy may not even be on anyone’s radar screen.

I work with many women who have pelvic floor issues. No one ever thought that tearing or episiotomy could lead to incontinence or upper body pain.

All traumas after conception have a cumulative effect. Therapy after each major event may be the difference in aging comfortably or experiencing chronic pain.

Gillespie Approach Training is a great tool to have in your therapy toolbox.
