A severe whiplash car accident can take a patient down the rabbit hole of health conditions.
A young mother presented with a true tongue tie and requested therapy before her surgery. But her story goes much deeper than an isolated oral procedure.
She also had neck and shoulder pain, headaches, low back pain, pelvic floor issues, lordosis, fatigue, and anxiety. She was taking 15 mg of Lexipro because of postpartum issues.
When she was sitting at a stop sign a few years ago, a car rear-ended her at 65 mph. On top of that, she had three cesarean sections in five years. She also fell down a flight of stairs as a teenager—quite a history of trauma.
She presented with the expected zero-second brain cycle and severe fascial whiplash. Her entire upper body, from her pelvic floor into her head, was involved.
The tongue tie was important and needed to be done, but it was just the tip of the iceberg for her overall structural health. I found on examination that her pelvic floor was also pulling into it—the extent of the powerful fascial web.
In therapy, she immediately went into whiplash and continued to do so for the entire visit. When this trauma eventually clears in future visits, I expect that her body will address the ramifications of the three cesarean sections and more lifetime events.
The craniosacral fascial system remembers all of its traumas back to conception. The provider just listens to the story as the web releases its layers in its own space and time.
Her brain cycle opened nicely, and the whiplash strain began to diminish. I expect her to transform into a happier and healthier woman in future visits.
