I am reporting an interesting CFT/dental finding. Look for it with your babies. A newborn presented with clicking tongue. The tongue was narrow, pointy, and curved upward. The palate was narrow too. On evaluation there was severe strain in the tongue. After the first CFT visit, the tongue relaxed and flattened out, and after the second, the palate widened significantly. In dental school we were taught that swallowing 2000 times per day with the tongue hitting the palate would spread the palate. OK, that makes sense. No one told me in school about a tongue with fascial restriction. Must have been sick that day—ha-ha.
