Mother holding baby in bed - building a global grassroots movement - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Building a Global Grassroots Movement

Pregnant moms, whose previous babies have been treated, will include our work in their “obstetrics package.”

One pregnant mom recently requested an appointment time after her due date. She stated: “My son was able to nurse and was the happiest baby. The proof is in the pudding, and it was incredible to see the results with him.”

We are hoping for this maternal sentiment to build into a global grassroots movement. This happened on a microcosmic level during our infant research in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 2008.

We wondered why during that first year a large influx of babies occurred in late fall. We discovered that the Amish marry after the harvest, and their wedding days stretch from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

All the moms would congregate with their newborns, who were sure to fuss during the long day. But one baby would be happy all day.

When the other mothers inquired, our “Happy Baby” mom would proudly say that she had taken her baby to Bird-in-Hand for treatment. Her detailed story would easily “sell” the other moms.

In this close-knit Amish community, four years later, the numbers grew to around 60 babies in active care with about 600 babies treated in all.

These pragmatic stay-at-home moms, who averaged seven children to a family, trusted that our work would result in happy babies at the end of therapy.

As I await the macrocosmic effect, we continue to change the world, one baby at a time. We are the standard bearers for a universal message: Happy Baby = Happy You.
