"Every time my baby poops, she gets red in her face, strains hard, and grunts. Our pediatrician recommended prune juice to help with her constipation."
This nine-week-old also had gas, indigestion, hiccuping, coughing, and sneezing episodes. She was blue at birth and took about 15 seconds to take her first breath. All of these other issues add up to probable tightness in her diaphragm.
While the medical model is content in just managing the constipation with prune juice, I am asking the question—what is causing all of her issues? The answer is that her fascial web was restricted from her pelvic floor to her diaphragm. Her small intestine fascia was especially tight.
In therapy her tissues freed up well on the first visit, to the point where everyone in the room could smell that therapy was working. I believe that this approach helps to open the digestive tube and restore the normal peristalsis of the system.
I often see that this type of strain pattern will create a similar list of issues, which babies “grow out of” in the medical model. My question: Do untreated babies “grow into” adults with intestinal problems like irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn’s disease?
The blue baby presentation would have been a major red flag at birth. I hope that the neonatal world accepts this preventative concept someday. For now, I am grateful to help change this baby’s life at nine weeks. I trust that God is in control.
My research reveals the subtle secrets of nature. I experience joy in showing the world what is possible for newborns. Practicality is not my strong point; I am a romantic, believing in my vision even if it seems unrealistic. I am just waiting for the world to see its promise.
