“I told all the doctors that she was never right from birth. Every one told me what happened at birth does not matter now.” That thinking must change.
A 3½-year-old child presents with meltdowns, processing issues, delayed learning, stomach pain, cannot say S’s, a lisp, snoring, and cries many times during the day with separation anxiety.
Her birth was extremely traumatic. She was born blue with the cord wrapped tightly around her neck. Mom said that it took one minute just to get the cord unwrapped.
Since she was not breathing, the staff pumped air into her. After about ten minutes, she took her first breath and went to the NICU.
She presented with a zero-second brain cycle and severe fascial strain in her neck and throat. I assumed this was due to the cord being wrapped so tightly.
When the cord is unwrapped in current medical thought, the blue fades away, and the baby starts to breathe, everything is now fine. It’s not fine.
The fascia holds the memory of that trauma, maybe even for a lifetime. Even though years later the neck and throat look healthy, the unseen tight fascia is acting like the cord is still wrapped. The strain in her neck is pulling into her head, creating pressure as a zero-second brain cycle, and contributing to her neurological issues.
I spent the first “massage” visit gently helping her fascia release in her neck and throat. Her brain cycle opened beautifully.
Mom reported the next day: “Since the visit, she has not had any meltdowns. Usually when her older sister tells her she ‘doesn’t want to play right now,’ she gets very upset. She processes it much differently now, offering my older daughter her space and going to play with something else independently. She told me she felt better from her ‘massage,” thanked me for taking her, and wanted to go again. I could not believe my eyes and ears.”
Happy Child = Happy Mom. May the world take notice to end the suffering.
