“Do your magic.”
In my 45 years in the field I have heard this phrase a few times. Even though it may look like magic to some patients, it is not.
It’s a different way of helping the body heal. Since my patients have an incurable problem(s) in the conventional medical approach, I need to think outside of that box to find their answer(s).
I specifically look at the function of the full body fascial web and the craniosacral system enmeshed within—two powerful components of health. I found that trauma creates soft tissue restriction, and tight bodies do not function well.
The fascial web holds the memory of all of its traumas from conception. I discovered that the web will direct you, if you listen to the fascial strains in the body. Yes, it may look like magic, but the work is rooted in medical anatomy and physiology.
I like to feel as much of the fascial web as possible in therapy. For the lower body connecting into the trunk, I will hold each and both legs and feel what is pulling or straining.
For the upper body, I will hold the back of the neck with both hands and feel strain going down into the sitting patient’s trunk and pelvis. Sometimes I have her or him hold specific point(s) of pain to connect a third (and fourth) dot(s).
I will follow the strain pattern until it reaches a still point. When the tissue starts to release, I will let the body process the change. When the web is ready, I will help peel another layer of the onion.
It may look like magic, but it is just a different approach to healing. I am so happy people are getting this concept and the Gillespie Approach Trainings are doing so well, especially for the babies. That makes my heart sing.
We hold the Light for the unborn billions. We feel compassion for all suffering infants. Our aim is for every neonate to experience the wonder of therapy. We see a world where every newborn is free from a lifetime of suffering due to birth trauma.
