Untreated Infant As a teenager - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

An Untreated Infant As a Teenager

The work at birth is critical for every newborn.

A sixteen-year-old boy presented with a speech impairment with difficulty saying the “s” sound. His mother wanted him to see a speech therapist.

But that was the tip of the iceberg of his health issues. He had headaches, neck pain, lower back pain, a stiff walk, poor coordination, strabismus, constipation, brain fog, sleep issues, and difficulty in focusing and concentrating in school.

I believe all of these conditions are rooted in birth trauma. If his craniosacral fascial restrictions had been identified and treated at birth, many, if not all of these conditions, would have been prevented. Therapy can still be effective for him, but why have the family go through years of needless suffering.

He was born by cesarean section and did not latch. He had further trouble breastfeeding and had colic and gas. On evaluation, he had the expected zero-second brain cycle and full-body strain from his left leg into his right eye. His craniosacral fascial system had many twists and restrictions.

During his first three visits, I just let his body tell me its story. He had a lot of great releases, and his body freed up nicely.

At the end of the third visit, his brain cycle opened to a terrific 100 seconds. I expect that, with further therapy, his life can be redirected in a healthier way.

When will the world wake up to the fact that what happens to the soft fetal tissues during those first 40 weeks can set the blueprint for the entire lifetime? When will everyone realize that not everyone is born perfectly healthy? When will everyone realize that every newborn needs to be checked and treated, if needed, to prevent so much suffering?
