Woman with headache - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Incredible Head Pressure

Some people live with tremendous pressure in their heads and will never know what caused their problem.

A forty-one-year-old mom presents with constant headaches since college, a “frozen” neck, sleep and menstrual issues, constipation, and fatigue. She manages to get through the day with her family.

Clinically, she had a zero-second brain cycle with upper body and abdominal fascial tightness. She is the classic example of a patient living a clean diet and lifestyle but feeling terrible.

Her first four visits were rather pedestrian—some arching and spinal twisting—nothing special. We were nicely peeling the layers from her traumatic onion until the recent fifth visit.

When I placed my hands on her neck, her tissues jumped out at me. She felt an incredible pressure in her head while almost passing out. She later told me that her head wanted to explode.

Her entire throat then lit up in red, with strain surfacing from a long-ago cord wrap, and her upper chest was blotchy red. Hopefully, we hit the mother lode of her fascial tightness, the core issue that has always been omnipresent causing her conditions.

Even with no history of the cord wrapped at birth, some babies demonstrated this aspect in our infant research. Ultrasound had showed a wrapped cord, but somehow the fetus freed itself before delivery. But unfortunately the fascia remembers the trauma and in her case, physiological chaos for 41 years.

All of my posted stories are derived from my practice in the Philadelphia suburbs. If I were to practice anywhere in the world, I would find similar circumstances.

The universal truth: We all spend time in a uterus and go through the birth process. The universal problem: About ninety percent of us experience soft tissue birth trauma. The best solution: All newborns need to be checked and freed at birth to prevent a lifetime of suffering.
