Healthcare professionals need to understand that fascial strain in the body can pull into the head and neck, causing problems.
A sixteen-month-old mouth breather cannot breathe through his nose. I could hear his every breath during his evaluation. He has been chronically congested even though off of all dairy products.
He had poor sleeping habits and speaking issues. His doctors gave no acknowledgement that anything was wrong with him, much to mom’s dismay. This thinking needs to end.
He was born as an emergency cesarean section and had wet lung syndrome—a respiratory problem right from the womb. Lip tie and tongue tie revisions were not corrective. He presented with a zero-second brain cycle and was tight from his chest into his neck and face.
While working with his neck, a red ring appeared around his throat, signaling a cord wrapped around his neck. Mom said there was no cord wrap at birth, but from our Lancaster research it can be seen in utero on ultrasound with the same restrictive fascial effect. Somehow they work out of it before delivery.
The medical profession is dumbfounded in caring for these infants. But when assessing the totality of the craniosacral fascial system, this answer makes perfect sense.
Fascial strain from his body and, especially, his neck was pulling and causing restriction in his throat, sinuses, and face. At the first, visit his brain cycle opened to 100 seconds. I expect that his strain can be released over a series of visits and that normal function can return, avoiding later corrective expenses.
The work at birth is so needed. Gillespie Approach Training is a must for all newborn providers.
