Constant crying - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Constant Crying

A newborn constantly cried during his first month. His doctors were dumbfounded, and no one had an answer.

At seven weeks, he was still fighting sleep by not going down at night. He also had reflux and gas, and his mother said he was an archer with a stiff body.

He had a long labor and swallowed amniotic fluid. He was taking Pepcid and gas drops after mom even eliminated dairy, eggs, and tree nuts from her diet.

He presented with a zero-second brain cycle and was one mass of fascial tightness from his pelvis through his trunk into his head. I believe that his body systems were not functioning optimally because of the restrictions. I could clearly see why he was miserable.

During his first session, his body softened, and his brain cycle opened to 70 seconds. His nervous system was shifting out of sympathetic mode into parasympathetic mode. I expect him to do well with continued therapy.

Even though this predicament was not his fault, birth trauma can be unforgiving. I believe that he needed to be checked at birth as a preventative measure.

Mom Speaks

“This is my first baby, and, while I knew crying was normal, I could have never expected to be dealing with an inconsolable newborn who literally did nothing but scream and cry at the top of his lungs anytime he was not eating or sleeping. And he didn’t sleep much at all. I knew something was not right and he needed help.

Unfortunately, our pediatrician was only able to recommend eliminating allergens from my breastmilk or switching to a hypoallergenic formula along with prescribing Pepcid in an effort to make him more comfortable. The switch to formula and inclusion of the Pepcid helped somewhat, but we still had an extremely fussy and irritable baby. We maybe got a total of 30 minutes per day where he could be awake and content. It was heartbreaking.

I decided to start chiropractic therapy with him in an effort to try to do anything and everything we could from an all-natural standpoint to help him. I seriously started to believe he was holding onto trauma from his birth. At our first chiropractor appointment, after hearing what we were dealing with and seeing our baby in person, they recommended Dr. Gillespie to me right away. As soon as I left their office, I called him and scheduled our first appointment.

I had never heard of his type of work before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but at the end of our first session, my mind was blown. When he had me pick my son up to put him back into his car seat, I looked at him in disbelief. My son felt like dead weight. His body felt relaxed, loose, and at ease. I had never ever felt that before.

To further my amazement, when I placed him into his car seat and began strapping him in, he fell asleep! That also had never happened before as he had always screamed and cried anytime he was placed into his car seat. I could immediately see that the work Dr. Gillespie had done in just a half-hour had brought my baby relief. He was soundly and peacefully asleep before we even walked out of his office and then for the hour car ride home!

The next day, we saw our chiropractor for the third time and had the best appointment we had ever had there. For the first time ever, he did not scream and cry throughout his adjustment! He even smiled at her several times. She said to me that he felt different and asked what we had been up to the past week. I told her we saw Dr. G. yesterday, and she said then it all made sense!

I am so excited to continue the therapy with Dr. Gillespie and will now be recommending him and sharing his work to all my family and friends. Finally I have some hope!”
