Difficulty urinating and difficulty defecating - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Difficulty Urinating and Defecating

A twenty-month-old-girl presented with difficulty urinating and defecating. Mom and Grandmom wrote: “She can hold her urine for five or six hours but is unable to urinate until she cannot hold it any longer.

“She stands during a bowel movement, and cries because it comes out without her knowing it. We sit her on the potty until it falls out. She does not know how to push.

“She has trouble sleeping and wakes up screaming, pulling at her hair and ears, and nursing all night. She also has reflux and trouble eating solid foods

“During naps we hold her upright. Otherwise, she starts snoring or coughing and wakes up screaming.” Many doctors and therapists have evaluated and worked with her in vain.

She was breech and delivered by cesarean section. Born with hip dysplasia, she was in a harness for three months. She also had tongue-tie surgery at the hospital. She presented to me with a zero-second brain cycle and was tight from her pelvis into her diaphragm extending into her neck and head

During the first session, I noticed something unique. Her upper body twisted vertically 90 degrees to her pelvic floor—possibly explaining her difficulty in urinating and defecating.

I hypothesize that a sustained compressive breech position could have strained her urethra and anus to the extent that they were each difficult to open and control on command. She also might not have been able to push because her pelvic floor was so tight.

With the tissue releases, I amazingly felt that all of her upper structures opened nicely with a ninety-second brain cycle. That fascial twist appeared to be the key for correcting many of her other conditions, further demonstrating the full-body web.

Always setting the bar high, I expect a positive outcome upon completion. Gillespie Approach Training is important for birth providers to prevent these childhood conditions. Let’s stop the suffering now.
