Fascial web heals on its own space and time - man posing - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

The Fascial Web Heals In Its Own Space and Time

Four years ago, a high school senior presented with headaches. When his fascial web opened nicely after eight visits, with a brain cycle of 250 seconds, his headaches went away.

After just graduating from college, he returned to my office with GERD and anxiety. His mother said he gets stressed with change, and she attributed these conditions from leaving school and getting a new job, apartment, and girlfriend.

I was not completely sold on that reasoning. He had no trauma that caused the problem, since it just came out of the blue. I suggested to mom the following hypothesis:

As an infant, he had severe reflux, which he eventually “outgrew.” I contended that he did not “outgrow” the problem but that it became a layer of his traumatic onion.

At this point in his life, his body decided to revisit that layer, and all of his reflux symptoms as an infant returned as an adult. We cannot control the body’s ability to heal past traumas. This is a different way to look at disease.

The forte of the Gillespie Approach is that we strive for authentic healing. We accept that the body knows best how to heal itself, and we are just listening and supporting its correction.

At the same time, he became very anxious for no reason. His brain cycle had returned to zero seconds, a place where many people can become anxious and depressed.

I theorized that he was now healing that tight infant layer where his entire fascial web became restricted. He and his mother said this made sense and will continue with therapy.

His brain cycle opened to 50 seconds as I worked with his diaphragm and cranium. I am hopeful that he will regain his health as his fascial web normalizes.
