Sometimes the root of the problem is in the core of the onion.
A sixty-year-old woman presented with clenching at night, painful teeth, neck and shoulder tightness, and headaches. She also had sleep apnea, heart palpitations, and digestive issues.
She had a zero-second brain cycle, and her upper body was very tight. Her lower body was considerably looser.
Her therapy was a tale of two cities. For twelve visits, she exhibited deep arching and twisting that was straining into her head and neck.
At the end of those visits, her eyes felt much calmer, her jaws more relaxed, and she generally felt much better. But she still had the digestive problems, heart palpitations, and sleep apnea.
As an unusual circumstance on the 13th visit, her major strain switched from arching to flexion. When I held her neck, ventral (abdominal) fascial strain was pulling on her upper structures.
On the third visit of this flexion strain, the fascia in her small intestinal area was pulling into her neck and head. The strain was passing through her heart (palpitations) and respiratory system (sleep apnea) with a lot of pressure.
Tight fascia can strain at 2,000 pounds per square inch. I believe she will have significant improvement in these secondary conditions as therapy progresses.
Patients tell us their traumatic story through the craniosacral fascial system. As we listen and assist the body in peeling the layers, old conditions can resurface and clear.
The goal of therapy is to become strain-free. Gillespie Approach Training can unlock the healing door for patients.
