Intubation Strain
Soft tissue strain from intubation trauma presents occasionally for children and adults. Patients may have a chronic headache or throat issues with no other trauma.
I am seeing a baby who had intubation at 13 months of age. She could say words clearly before the surgery, but right afterward lost that skill.
For CFT infant and toddler providers, please check the throat tissues after intubation surgery. The ENT doctor may see some surface irritation or inflammation, but the strain is imprinted into the craniosacral fascial system.
