Baby Day Post: We saw an interesting new baby today. No problems that mom was aware of…..just a check-up visit……120 cycles in sync…wow, very unusual, but the cord was wrapped tight enough for a blue face at birth. Mom did not notice the stridor breathing. The trachea showed a lot of strain, but it did not go below it to the esophagus (reflux)….we will see the baby until the breathing clears. Funny thing about stridor……we found the answer to it BEFORE I knew what it was. I had to Google it some time ago to see what it was. A similar thing happened with asthma in 1980. I found the answer to a disease that I knew nothing about because I never studied it in dental school. So when you are doing the BBS/CFT, keep your mind very open in the moment.
