In the Gillespie Approach we see a wide range of emotions around breastfeeding. Baby M presented in the lowest one percent of weight for her age, and mom was very worried. In our infant research we found that 80–90% of these issues were cleared when the baby became craniosacral fascial strain-free. For many of the remaining babies, we found that mom had fascial strain in either or both breasts restricting the milk flow in her mamillary ducts.
Baby M was happy after CFT, but still not nursing well. Mom went directly to the lactation consultant after her first craniosacral fascial treatment. She felt that Baby M now fed with a better latch and suck. Her milk unexpectedly in the left breast went from 1.2 ounces to 2.0 ounces and the right breast from .2 ounces to 0.5 ounces. We are anticipating continued improvement with CFT.
I watched the emotions of being unable to feed her baby without supplementing, blaming herself for her underweight baby, and breaking down in tears of guilt, dramatically change to elation, exhilaration, and happiness. What a joy.
After forty years of CFT practice I have found that my basic job is to help the patient peel his/her emotional and physical onion to revisit his/her core birth trauma. The beauty of working with infants is that they are already right there. As you age, you distance yourself from these events in time and create a more challenging healing.
Our “agenda” is that so many life health issues can be prevented with the work at birth. Thank you for being a member of a group that is bringing this awareness to the planet.
