The Interconnected Fascial Web
This is how I see therapy. My goal is for health care providers to start thinking the same way.
A toddler presented with many issues including constipation and a history of colic. She had a habit of positioning her left foot and lower leg in a lateral position when she sat or kneeled. I found a twisted fascial strain in her left knee from a sustained fetal compressive strain.
That strain was much improved after 15 minutes of therapy. Amazingly, I found the fascia in her abdominal cavity dramatically looser. The body is all connected in the fascial web.
Mom later reported this on social media: “That is my toddler! She has already had 4 large bowel movements since we saw you 2 days ago. She was previously going only once every couple of days. We also give her an abdominal massage every night and her abdomen is noticeably less tense. I’m excited to see the results as we continue working with you!”
At the second visit, the knee twisting had cleared, but a second strain in the knee started to release into her hip. Her brain cycle continued to open nicely allowing the brain to function better. At the end of the visit her body was in better balance.
Mom later reported this on social media: “I have to provide a second update because I am SO excited. She slept thru the night last night for the first time in MONTHS after our second session of release with Dr. Gillespie yesterday. She was previously waking 2-5 times a night. Such a blessing!!! The ONLY variable that changed was her getting therapy with Dr. Gillespie.”
Bottom line: Who on the planet is going to tell you that your baby had colic and is now constipated due to a compressive fetal fascial knee strain? Honestly, probably only me and my students.
We connect the dots in the space-time continuum that no one else does.
That is why we can get results that no one else does.
We think differently.
