Newborns tightness - Gillespie Approach–Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Thinking What No One Has Thought

Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorygi, a Nobel Prize winner in 1937, stated, “Discovery consists of seeing what everyone else has seen and thinking what nobody has thought.”

Since the beginning of time, everyone has seen that many newborns are tight. No one has really inquired about the consequences of this tightness. In the last 150 years medical people have focused on life-threatening bacterial and viral diseases. And for good reason….these brilliant advancements have saved millions of lives. Today’s new medicine focuses on genes predisposing certain diseases.

We just noticed in our six years of infant research that their craniosacral fasical systems happened to be tight. The location of that tightness usually predisposed them to a particular condition. We felt that if we could identify a problem and offer treatment at birth, we could prevent many diseases later in life and optimize neonatal neurophysiology for cognitive enhancement. Our primary concern was about the quality of life for every human being. We do not want people to suffer their entire lives needlessly because they had a difficult birth.

We created a screening tool, the Baby Brain Score (BBS), to be done at birth. It reflects the tightness of the central nervous system and entire body. We discovered that if we helped free this system with the informed touch of craniosacral fascial therapy (CFT), the breast-feeding normalized, the colic/reflux went away, the digestive system worked well, and many diseases like strabismus, stridor, pyloric stenosis, and clubfoot faded away. We believe that it will prevent other “tight” diseases like asthma, earaches, cognitive issues in childhood. As a result, the babies and their families were happy. We became the happy baby people.

We saw this in Mexico, America, and Canada; our students have seen it on other continents. We believe we are witnessing the global human condition. If this concept resonates with you, please consider joining us to make a difference in the world.
